Violence against women and girls continues unabated in every continent, country and culture. It takes a devastating toll on women’s lives, on their families, and on society as a whole. Most societies prohibit such violence — yet the reality is that too often, it is covered up or tacitly condoned

Together We Can End Violence Against Women & Girls - Wales Focus Groups Start on 5th May

1 Mai 2009

Together We Can End Violence Against Women and Girls.

Focus Groups

On 9 March the Home Secretary launched the biggest ever public debate on keeping women and girls safe from harm. The consultation on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls is designed to prompt discussion on how to prevent this violence from occurring in the first place, provide services for those who are victims and to protect victims and the wider public from future harm.

This is your chance as a stakeholder in Wales to have your say. We would like to invite you to one of our free stakeholder focus groups where we will be seeking your view on the prevention, protection and provision for women in Wales which will then be fed back to the Home Office and Welsh Assembly Government. Your views are important.

Violence against women is any violence that targets a woman because she is a woman. It is also violence that disproportionately affects women. It includes physical, sexual or psychological harm such as domestic violence, forced marriage, female genital mutilation, ‘honour’ attacks, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, threats of violence and kidnapping.
